 barrow 4 - 2 harrogate town (AET)

A 90th minute equaliser paved the way for Barrow to knock Harrogate Town out of the FA Trophy after a six goal thriller at The Furness Building Society Stadium.

Akil Wright got the crucial leveller, converting from a corner in the 90th minute before Lindon Meikle struck the other side of 90 minutes to swing the tie in the hosts favour.

Town had again come from behind to lead as Chib Chilaka and JP Pittman's goals had cancelled out Ross Hannah's 16th minute opener.

Wright then sealed his side's place in the FA Trophy with a 109th minute goal that dispelled all hope of another Town comeback.

Simon Weaver made one change from Saturday's 3-3 draw with Luke Shiels replacing Paul Thirlwell in the heart of defence.

Town made a much better start than the one on Saturday that saw them two goals down inside eight minutes as Warren Burrell went closest to opening the scoring within the first 15 minutes.

The Bluebirds again took the lead though as a through ball beat the Town back line and presented Hannah with a one on one and the opportunity to slide the ball to Chris Elliott's left and in.

Town's Lewis Turner almost provided a leveller from an unlikely source just four minutes later as the full back cut inside on his left foot and fired just wide of the top corner.

Just like Saturday Town hauled themselves level, this time through Chilaka as the striker scrambled home from close range when Pittman's shot had squirmed loose.

The second 45 started at a frantic pace with both Alex-Ray Harvey and Andy Haworth seeing efforts fly off target.

The visitors then almost took the lead in fortunate circumstances as Erlandsson completely missed a punch only for the ball to drop a foot wide of the empty Barrow goal.

Town's attack made no mistake on their next opportunity though, as Andi Thanoj slid Pittman through on goal where the striker could curl round the stopper on his left foot.

It was so nearly three just after the hour mark as Chilaka demonstrated great strength to muscle his way through on goal only to poke inches past the post.

Barrow were desperate to keep their incredible unbeaten run alive and as expected launched attack after attack at Town, though Simon Ainge and Luke Shiels remained strong and kept the National League side at bay.

The Town defenders endured another heartbreaking late setback though as Bennett converted from a corner just as the fourth official was signalling for added time.

The tie headed to extra time and was soon turned on its' head! Within the first minute of the extra period substitute Meikle accurately powered into the bottom corner to swing the tie back in the hosts favour.

Barrow's scorer of their all important equaliser then made sure it would be Barrow who host Matlock in the second round as the midfielder capitalised on a rare Elliott error to make it 4-2.
