A former Ilkeston Town player, Jake joined Harrogate Town when Ilkeston went into administration in 2010. His debut against Hyde FC didn’t go according to plan when he put the ball past his own goalkeeper in a 3-1 defeat.

Jake’s career started at Scunthorpe United and despite coming very close on several occasions, he was unable to break into the first team before being released. He also had a loan spell at Blue Square Bet North side Gainsborough Trinity.

When injury curtailed former captain Steve Bowey’s season last time around, Jake was handed the armband and has kept it for this new campaign.

Even at 20 years of age, Jake is a very assured central defender who has lightning pace and a strong tackle. He has already cemented his place in the heart of the Town defence and looks better as each game passes.

After just short of two seasons at the club, Jake was released at the end of the 2011-2012 season.
