Mark started his career at Newcastle United and worked through the ranks until being released without making a senior start.
His next club would be Hartlepool United and despite being on the fringes of the first team, he was unable to make that final claim for a place in the starting eleven.
Gateshead snapped up the young shot stopper on his release from Hartlepool at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. However, he found his chances limited at the International Stadium due to the arrival of Tim Deasy and had little hesitation in signing for Town when the chance arose.
He wasted little time in proving his credentials to the Town support with a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Redditch United.
