Hall of Fame FAQs
The Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame is a celebration of those individuals who have made significant contributions to the football club spanning its long and distinguished history.
The Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame Committee is selected from key football club stakeholders.
They include representatives from the Independent Supporters Club, the Football Club’s Trust, the Football Club’s Community Foundation, the Football Club’s Historian, lifelong supporters and football club staff.
The Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame committee collectively will recommend then vote on those individuals who deserve to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after detailed discussion of their merits.
As of February 27th 2023 there are currently 12 inductees who have been selected.
As there are many individuals who have made significant contributions in many roles at Harrogate Town AFC during the football club’s long history the Hall of Fame committee was unable to induct everyone at the same time.
The Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame committee meets regularly and is always keen to learn about any individual who has made a significant contribution to the football club.
Any individual recommendations to be inducted into the Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame should be forwarded to Bernard Higgins (Hall of Fame Chairman : b.higgins33@outlook.com) and Hamilton Mattock (Supporters Engagement Manager : Hamilton Mattock@harrogatetownafc.com). The recommendations will then be shared, discussed and then voted on by the Hall of Fame committee.
The launch event took place at the Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate on Thursday 9th February 2023. The first inductees and over 100 guests enjoyed an evening of celebration and nostalgia in Harrogate Town Football Club’s history.
Harrogate Town AFC Chairman Irving Weaver and Manager Simon Weaver presented each inductee and/or their families with a framed image which included the information detailing their time and commitment to Harrogate Town AFC over many years.
In addition to the Harrogate Town AFC Hall of Fame board at the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, opposite the famous Harrogate Stray, the Hall of Fame will be displayed at the Club Shop on Commercial Street in the centre of Harrogate Town, as well as at the EnviroVent Stadium in the Supporters Bar as well as Corporate Hospitality.
