Harrogate Town AFC support HG Lockdown Fest!

On Saturday 9th May at 3pm Harrogate Town AFC will be contributing towards the HG Lockdown Fest. The three-day online Lockdown Festival features community based organisations and companies, looking to entertain, educate and inspire Harrogate residents.

The Festival, which starts on Friday 8th May and concludes on Sunday 10th May will look to bring the community closer together and raise much needed funds for Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity
During our timeslot on Saturday 9th May at 3pm, you will be trained by Harrogate Town AFC’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Darren Simpson, along with a special guest! The session aimed at keeping fit and active during lockdown, will use limited equipment and space. Also allowing a variety of age groups to take part through modified activities. Plus, a special mini video by Assistant Manager Paul Thirlwell (filmed before lockdown) showing what you can do within the family.

Iain Service, HTAFC Community Development Manager explains, “To be involved in the HG Lockdown Festival is a great way to showcase what the Club and Community Foundation is about. We will look to provide a fun and enjoyable session that allows viewers to try in their own home, with limited equipment. We want to be seen as a Club that gives back to the local community, and the HG Lockdown Fest is an innovative idea that we fully support”.

As well as the special workout on Saturday, Harrogate Town AFC are set to auction match worn shirts from this season (with all proceeds going towards the Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity).

The live auction will take place on Harrogate Town AFC’s Facebook page. First team shirts will be scheduled in 4 hour time slots between Friday and Sunday (schedule to be announced on Wednesday 6th May).  All players have donated £20 for their own shirt to get the auction started. It is hoped that plenty of money can be raised, all for a good cause. Bids can be made via commenting on the shirt post. The highest bidder will then be contacted via private message once the auction has concluded. Money will be collected via bank transfer to Harrogate Town Community Foundation where it can be collated and sent on to HG Lockdown Fest.
