We’re delighted to announce four pre-season fixtures held at the EnviroVent Stadium in July, as we host Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley FC.
The first match of our pre-season campaign will be against Sheffield Wednesday on
Friday 8th July, 7:00pm kick-off. The Owls made it to the Sky Bet League One Playoff Semi Finals last season, narrowly losing out to eventual promotion winners Sunderland.
It’ll be the first time Sheffield Wednesday have visited the EnviroVent Stadium and just our second meeting with the South Yorkshire outfit, after we played them in last year’s Papa John’s Trophy at Hillsborough.
On
Tuesday 12th July, we host Rotherham United in a
7:00pm kick-off. The Millers, managed by Paul Warne, earned promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship at the first attempt last season, finishing second in the table. It’ll be Rotherham’s second visit to the EnviroVent Stadium, having also visited ahead of the 21/22 season.
Our third meeting at the EnviroVent Stadium will be with Huddersfield Town. The Terriers made it all the way to the Sky Bet Championship Playoff Final in the 21/22 season but were unable to get past Nottingham Forest in their attempt to return to the Premier League. Huddersfield will make the trip to North Yorkshire on
Saturday 16th July with
kick-off at 12 noon.
The last pre-season fixture to be played at the EnviroVent Stadium will be on
Wednesday 20th July as we welcome Sky Bet League One side Barnsley FC. The South Yorkshire side were relegated from the Championship last season, but will provide a tough test for Simon Weaver’s side in our penultimate pre-season game.
Kick-off is at 7:00pm
Following that fixture, we’ll play our final pre-season game on
Saturday 23rd July away from home, with details on this game to be confirmed shortly.
