A 1-1 draw with Bromley in front of the BT Sport cameras closed the gap to league leaders Barrow to just four points.
An unfortunate 86th minute Alex Bradley own goal was all that prevented Town moving within two points of league leaders Barrow as Bromley escaped The CNG Stadium with a 1-1 draw.
Jack Diamond had put Town ahead in the 47th minute, but Simon Weaver's side were unable to recover from conceding in the 86th minute.
Weaver was forced into one change from Tuesday night’s stoppage time win at Chesterfield as Max Kouogun made his first league start, replacing the injured Connor Hall.
Ryan Huddart was needed early on to keep Jon Stead’s header out as he tipped onto the bar, though the experienced forward had been penalised for a push on his marker.
Bromley began to frustrate Town after the early scare, with Weaver's side being made to wait until the 26th minute for further efforts on goal, with Huddart denying both Stead and Jack Diamond.
Neil Smith's side finished the half the stronger with Luke Coulson's long range effort forcing the first save from James Belshaw, before Will Smith made a crucial block to stop Chris Bush's low effort going any further.
Josh Falkingham nearly had the last laugh of the half though as he sent a dipping volley goalwards deep into added time, only for his strike to bounce back off the crossbar.
Town came flying out the traps for the second half, taking the lead within two minutes as Jack Muldoon's low cross was helped into the path of Diamond who fired past Huddart.
The fixture continued to see little goalmouth action after the opener, with Belshaw keeping out Coulson's tame free kick.
With just four minutes left on the clock, Coulson's corner was unintentionally turned into the back of his own net by Bradley to put the visitors back level.
The result leaves Town a point closer to league leaders Barrow than at the start of the day, with Ian Evatt's side due to visit The CNG Stadium on April 1st.
