Yeovil 1 Town 2

Town made it seven unbeaten and claimed all three points against Yeovil on their first trip to Huish Park, ending The Glovers' five game home winning streak.

After a first half of few chances, Brendan Kiernan struck his fifth of the season in the 71st minute to put Town ahead.

Jack Muldoon made it two seven minutes later which was enough to seal victory, despite a late Rhys Murphy strike making for a nervy closing few minutes.

Simon Weaver handed a second start to Jack Diamond after the midfielder's impressive performance from the bench on Tuesday night, with Alex Bradley dropping to the bench where he joined George Thomson who returned from injury.

Having won their last five home matches, the home fans were in good voice prior to kick-off and their side responded with an early chance as Jimmy Smith shot wide.

The lively Courtney Duffus was next to try his luck, but could only find the side netting under close attention from Connor Hall.

Town were not giving their opponents any time on the ball and were having some lengthly spells of possession themselves, leading to plenty of Yeovil frustation and bookings for Luke Wilkinson and Charlie Lee.

Weaver's side's best chance of the half when Brendan Kiernan showed Remeoa Hutton a clean set of heels on the right wing and crossed towards Diamond, whose header was claimed by Adam Smith.

Despite Town frustrating their hosts, Yeovil had the chance to go into the break ahead as Duffus was flicked clear on goal, though James Belshaw got enough on the forward's finish to allow Hall to clear the ball from the line and ensure the sides went into the break level.

There was a nervy moment at the start of the second half as Belshaw's cross clearance fell to the feet of an attacker, though the stopper recovered well to save.

Town marched straight up the other end and nearly found the net as Kiernan centred towards Beck, but a well timed recovery tackle prevented Town's number nine from finishing.

As the game went on, Town began enjoying more and more possession, which paid off in the 71st minute as Kiernan found the far corner to put his side ahead.

Seven minutes later and Muldoon made it two when a defensive mistake allowed Beck to find his strike partner who finished well.

The hosts did find a reply in stoppage time as Murphy rifled home, but it was too little too late as Town's untbeaten march continued.
