Nuneaton Preview

7 December 2017

Harrogate Town travel to Liberty Way on Saturday afternoon, after returning to second place in The National League North on Tuesday night.

Opponents Nuneaton find themselves at the other end of the table in 20th and facing a battle to stay at the level of football they have played since 2010.

The Boro, a full time outfit, finished last season 12th, just four points behind Town, but now trail Simon Weaver's side by 20 points after 20 games.

Dino Maamria is the man in charge at Liberty Way, after Tommy Wright made the move to Darlington earlier in the season, and knows he could overtake as many as six teams with a win on Saturday.

Maamria's side made it back to back wins for the first time this season with three points against North Ferriby on Saturday, and could make it three if the latest meeting  goes the way of recent clashes, all of the last three of which have ended in home wins.

Despite last weekend's defeat at FC United of Manchester, Town have won eight of their last ten away from home, and following Tuesday night are now the top scorers in steps 1-4 of Non League, that's 276 teams in total!

Weaver's side have averaged 2.7 goals away from home in the National League North, but only have one win at Nuneaton, back in 2007.

Saturday's opponents are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions, but have won just two of their last seven home games.
