U17s | Town 4 Darlington 3

The U17's finished 2017 with an entertaining 4-3 win over Darlington U16's.

Town took the lead in the first minute when good passing move ended with Sam Clark pulling the ball back to Sam Phoenix. Phoenix bent the ball over the keeper into the far corner. 1-0
 
Town had a few more chances but it was Darlington who would score next, when a short free kick caught town out. A cross/shot from out wide found its way into the top corner. 1-1
 
Harrogate responded well when they won the ball back in Darlington's box. James Richardson crossed and Clark had a tap in. 2-1
 
The second half started with Darlington on top and although town had a few big chances with Phoenix and Clark coming close, it was Darlington that grabbed their deserved equalizer when the big centre forward shrugged off challenges and smashed the ball across Will Godbehere in goal. 2-2
 
Gabe Humphries, from the Harrogate Town Shadow Squad was brought on and made an immediate impact. After a great pass from Carl Robinson put Humphries 1 on 1 with the keeper, he finished smartly under the keeper. 3-2
 
The game was end to end and it was Darlington that struck next when the ball fell to the centre mid he bent it in off the post leaving Godbehere no chance. 3-3
 
Town stepped their game up and after a couple of half chances, Phoenix was sent away down the right. His pin point ball across found Clark with a tap in. 4-3
 
Town had a chance to extend their lead when Humphries was brought down. Gus Steele stepped up confidently but his shot was saved by the keeper.
 
4-3 it finished in a very entertaining game where both teams managed to field some younger players.
