Ahead of tomorrow's trip to Wrexham in the FA Trophy First Round, Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York his side were raring to go against opposition exactly a league above.
With last weekend's trip to Nuneaton falling victim to the weather, maintaining intensity in the week's training was always going to be important, but that was not a problem according to the Manager.
He said: “It has been a really good week of training; we have done a fitness session on Tuesday as well as some 11 vs 11 work and looked at the way we are going to set up against Wrexham.
“We have had some good sessions so we are fully organised and raring to go.
“We are looking forward to going to play at a big ground with a big atmosphere and a bigger pitch than we are used to, which should suit us.”
With The Dragons setting the standard in terms of defensive performance in the league above, Weaver identified the area he believes Town need to improve.
He said: “We need now to be better defensively than we have been recently.
“We are on a run where questions have been raised about the defensive set up of the team and now we have to go to the step above, exactly the step above because they are third in their league, and prove something against good National League centre forwards.
Harrogate's Manager was also able to reveal midfielder Lloyd Kerry is back in contention for the trip abroad, following a nine month spell on the sidelines.
“We haven't wanted to rush him in, but his performances in training have been outstanding and in the Under 21 game the other night he played the full 90 minutes, so he is going to be part of the 16 on Saturday for sure.”
