Prior to Saturday's clash with Leamington, we caught up with Club Physiotherapist Rachel Davis who was able to provide an update on how some of our injured players are progressing with their rehabilitation programmes.
Louie Swain has returned to training this week following ACL reconstruction surgery at the end of March, and is therefore in his last month of rehab before he returns available for selection.
If everything goes according to plan and he does not suffer any setbacks then he will be building his match fitness over subsequent weeks.
Lloyd Kerry is progressing well with his functional rehab following ACL reconstruction surgery at the beginning of April and received the “all clear” from the consultant last week at his 6th month mark.
He will be building up sport specific twisting and turning drills, ball work and fitness work over the next 4-6 weeks before he returns to training.
Dom Knowles has his follow up appointment this week following a fracture to his 5th metatarsal (base of 5th toe).
The surgery was successful and we hope that sufficient healing has occurred for his Aircast boot to be removed and then we can start building up his mobility and strength.
Simon Ainge is now 7 weeks post-surgery following an avulsion fracture of the adductor longus tendon (where one of the groin muscles attaches to the pubic bone).
He is back running and is progressing well with his rehab and strengthening work.
Ben Parker suffered a grade 2 (partial) tear to the MCL (inside knee ligament) 3 weeks ago.
He is currently wearing a knee brace but he will be following a rehab programme over the next month, hoping to be back fit within 8 weeks
