Josh Falkingham's U21 side returned to winning ways on Monday night with a convincing 5-1 win over Yorkshire Amateur at The CNG Stadium.
First team players and management were in attendance to cast an eye of Town's young talents, on of which was Ben O'Hanlon who marked his appearance with a goal.
Despite the end outcome Town got off to a poor start and fell behind after a quarter of an hour as a cross come shot caught the hosts off guard and flew in unexpectedly at the back post.
Town quickly got back on level terms though, as the impressive Jerome Slew produced a clinical finish out of nothing after a ricochet had seen the ball fall loose.
The two sides went into half time tied, but it took Town five minutes to edge ahead as Jerome produced another neat touch and finish after a slick one-two with Prince Attakorah on the edge of the box.
Now ahead, Falkingham's side were doing most of the probing, though the visiting striker could, and maybe should, have pulled his side level only to spurn two one on one opportunities.
Attakorah almost made it three not long after when latching onto Sam Barker's through ball, but a defender recovered in time to force a corner that Andy Higgins headed over.
The third goal eventually arrived in the 71st minutes as Deven Hannah's cross was parried by the goalkeeper and converted by Attakorah who was first to react.
Two minutes later it was four for the hosts as Slew capitalised on a defensive error and finished confidently and claim the match ball.
O'Hanlon was determined to get in on the act and saw his free kick parried by the visiting stopper, who then saved Higgins' rebound strike.
The visitors were not done though, as their lively number nine produced a clever back heel to a team mate who dragged just wide of the near post.
With ten minutes left to play O'Hanlon got his goal, drifting in field from left back before winning possession high up the pitch and shooting right footed.
Yorkshire's stopper got a hand to the effort but could only palm onto the post and eventually over the line as Town ran out comfortable winners.
