YOUTH | Robin Hood 3 Town U17's 5

9 October 2017

Harrogate Town U17's came from 2-1 behind to beat Robin Hood 5-3 on Sunday.

Town took the lead in the 28th minute when James Richardson's run and cross only half cleared to Carl Robinson who fired home from just inside the box.

It was Robin Hood who went into half time in front though, after two goals from their striker, who first slotted home after running on to a through ball from midfield, then converted an easy tap in after Town failed to deal with a corner.

Harrogate came out of the dressing room like a new team in the second half and grabbed a deserved equaliser after a great run and finish at the near post from Sam Clark in the 68th minute.

Town edged in front in the 72nd minute after good play down the right saw Sam Phoenix's pinpoint cross towards Clark finished first time to give the keeper no chance.

After taking the lead, Harrogate were on top and pushing for more goals. Owen Marwood, coming on from the bench, grabbed Town's fourth in the 78th minute when he found himself unmarked in the box after Robinsons shot was blocked, before emphatically firing into the roof of the net.

Henry Dolby's impressive display in midfield allowed Town to get their fifth and final goal of the contest.

After Dolby had won the ball back, Marwood and Robinson worked the ball well to find Phoenix out wide, before the midfielder saw his cross bounce off a Robin Hood centre back for an own goal with only eight minutes left to play.

Robin Hood got a late consolation goal, but after a very good second half performance, Town recorded a deserved win.
