Harrogate Town AFC will be offering completely free multi-skills and football coaching sessions in local primary schools between now and December.
The National League Trust supported ‘Get in to Town' scheme will also include a chance for children to design the club's new mascot and provide goody bags for participants.
Harrogate Town will be working with Harrogate School Sports Partnership and Harrogate Borough Council to deliver the scheme, designed to provide opportunities to children within the local community.
Following the free sessions, ‘Get in to Town' will culminate in a celebration event/ mini football tournament at The CNG Stadium in December.
Utilising the skillset of our current players and staff, it is our aim to use the power and appeal of Harrogate Town AFC to engage and inspire young people to learn new skills and be active.
‘Get in to Town' will see the club work closely with Harrogate Borough Council and The Premier League and follows previous schemes ‘Leadership Through Football', ‘Harrogate Starting Line-up' and ‘Lifeline Through Football'.
Managing Director Garry Plant said: “This is a great opportunity to come along and get involved with Harrogate Town, when I was a kid we played at a park, now local kids have the opportunity to play at a football stadium.
“The aim of the project is to improve and develop basic movement skills, agility, balance and coordination, all while having fun and making friends.
“We are hoping that schools in the local area take advantage of the free funded coaching opportunities, as well as a fantastic U11's Cup, though places are limited.”

The National League Trust is a charity that offers grant aid to National League clubs to support and develop their community projects. Funding is made possible by the generous support of the Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association, who have committed to support the Trust until 2019.
