Harrogate started well and had the better of their opponents; with early chances from Sam Phoenix, James Richardson and Sam Clark all testing the Eccleshill goalkeeper.
Town were then made to pay for missed chances, conceding three goals in 15 minutes; two of which came from set pieces.
Harrogate scored early in the second half after Richardson headed home a Hamish McNeil corner, allowing the hosts a chance of getting back into the game.
The comeback was not to be though, after a man of the match performance from the Eccleshill goalkeeper ensured the score stayed at 1-3; a dissapointing start for the young Harrogate side.
Town's U17's will be looking to improve on an opening defeat of the season next Sunday when Pontefract visit The CNG Stadium (10am Kick-off).
