Bromley Preview

10 August 2018

Harrogate Town take on Bromley on Saturday afternoon looking to build on encouraging performances against Sutton and Hartlepool and claim a first win in The National League.

The Ravens finished 9th in The National League last season, just three points off a play-off spot and reached the FA Trophy Final, though lost out at Wembley on penalties to Aaron Williams' Brackley.

Much of Bromley's success was down to a dangerous attack only outscored by two teams in the league, though both top goal scorers Josh Rees and Louis Dennis have since made moves to The Football League.

Despite their prominent frontline, Bromley conceded the most goals in The National League's top ten last term, but can boast Roger Johnson in their ranks; a defender who has made over 100 Premier League appearances in an impressive career.

Now in their fourth season at this level, former Fulham midfielder Neil Smith's side started with a defeat at Fylde, but were able to pick up a midweek point at Hayes Lane against Dover.

Supporters could be in for a goal fest on Saturday with games this season involving Town and Bromley having produced more goals than any other team's fixtures (eight and seven).

Simon Weaver's side go into the clash unbeaten in five competitive matches, while Bromley are winless in five, though The Ravens haven't lost in their last 12 fixtures at Hayes Lane.

Town will be without Mark Beck, Jordan Thewlis and Ryan Fallowfield for the first ever meeting between the clubs.
