AFC Telford Preview

24 January 2018

Harrogate Town will be looking to put on another strong home performance on Saturday as AFC Telford visit The CNG Stadium.

Simon Weaver's side have been impressive on home turf recently, winning their last four outings by a combined score of 15-1, though this weekend's first Saturday home game of the year pits Town against an opponent desperate for points.

Rob Edwards' side currently find themselves in the division's bottom three, but have played three games less than the team directly above them.

One of those games was due to be played last Saturday, only for The Bucks' clash with Nuneaton to be called off due to the weather; meaning our next opponents could not break a run of no win in six.

Telford's recent record does not make good reading for supporters of The Lilywhites who have taken just one point from their last five away matches.

Despite that, Edwards' side do have the ninth best away record in the division, though face a tough task to improve that on Saturday with Town suffering just one home league defeat in 13 and going unbeaten in their last eight.

In recent meetings, Town have won two of the last three, including a 5-1 success at new Bucks Head in September, while Telford have come out on top in one of the last seven clashes.

Lloyd Kerry missed Tuesday night's win over Stockport with flu and should be back in contention, though Ryan Fallowfield's hamstring injury will need to be assessed, while former Manchester United and Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake could line up against Town.
