Harrogate Town kicked off 2018 with a win as Darlington were beaten 3-0 at The CNG Stadium.
Jack Emmett opened the scoring three minutes after half time with a well taken finish from Warren Burrell's pull back, before Jordan Thewlis cut inside and found the bottom corner six minutes later to make it two.Joe Leesley added Town's third and final goal with almost the last kick of the game as the winger slalomed into the penalty area and found the top corner.
Simon Weaver made four changes from Boxing Day with Louie Swain, Thewlis, Emmett and Mark Beck all recalled to the starting line-up.
Town were enjoying plenty of possession in the early stages, but had to wait until the 18th minute for their first shot on goal as Mark Beck's header was caught by James Talbot.
With half an hour gone the hosts were the ones applying pressure to the opposition goal as Joe Leesley's shot hit the back of Beck, before Terry Kennedy turned Swain's cross just wide of the near post.
The Quakers came closest to breaking the deadlock in first half stoppage time, but Davis Syers' well struck volley was met by an impressive James Belshaw save as the sides entered the break all square.
Town took the lead three minutes after the restart as Burrell beat his man and raced to the byline before pulling back to Emmett who finished first time.
The lead was doubled six minutes later as, after Talbot had denied Leesley one on one, the winger found Thewlis who was able to cut inside and find the bottom left corner.
Tommy Wright's side looked for an immediate response, but Stephen Thompson's shot was blocked by Kennedy before it could reach the far corner.
Emmett had the chance to claim his second of the afternoon with just under a quarter of an hour remaining, but shot wide of the far post after Burrell had played the ball through.
Joe Leesley added Town's third and final goal with almost the last kick of the game as the winger slalomed into the penalty area and found the top corner.
