Town Loan Leeds Defender Kitching

19 January 2018

Town have today added to their defence with the month-long loan signing of Leeds United centre back Liam Kitching.

The Harrogate born 18-year-old was recently named the Elland Road club's squad for their FA Cup Third Round tie with Newport after signing a two-year contract in July.

Kitching has featured regularly for The Whites' U23 side, and found the net recently against Hull City at Leeds United's Thorp Arch training ground.

Liam has been training with the Harrogate Town first team for the last week or so and we would like to thanks Leeds United for their help in completing the deal.

On getting the deal over the line, Simon Weaver said: “I think Liam has got a really good chance of making a good career for himself and we are really pleased to have him on board.

“He is big for his age, has a good left foot, is very vocal and mature for someone so young and is prepared to go out there and organise a back four.

“In this day and age that will be a massive advantage to him as he strives to reach those high levels in his career.”

Don't miss your chance to see our newest signing in action for the first time at The CNG Stadium on Tuesday night when we welcome Stockport County to The CNG Stadium, the first match in our 'Fantastic Four' offer.
