As we prepare for another intake of budding footballers joining our BTEC Programme in association with Harrogate College we shine the spotlight on two aspiring young footballers.
Rhys Durkin, a Year 1 BTEC College student was last week given the chance to train with our first team during the first week of pre-season.Rhys took the opportunity in his stride, completing sessions with first team goalkpeers Joe Cracknell and James Belshaw.
Goalkeeper Coach Phil Priestley made sure Rhys was put through his paces and was impressed with his attitude, commitment and thirst to learn.
Rhys (below) hardly played any football as a teenager, but has developed recently as a promising young keeper who played for our College side in the National U19 League and the College League last season.
Fin Darvill, another Year 1 BTEC Student who played football for College last season, has been selected for Harrogate Town U19s next season who will be playing in the U23 West Riding Floodlit League.
Under the guidance of U19 Manager and first team Captain Josh Falkingham, Fin is at the start of what, with the right guidance and determination, could be the start of a successful career.
Rhys and Fin are two of a number of talented young footballers involved with Harrogate Town's College partnership looking to shape a future in the game.
