We are delighted to announce our second signing of the Summer... Aaron Williams
Aaron joins Town from FA Trophy winners Brackley Town, a team he managed over 20 league goals for last season.Despite being just 24 years of age, Williams has scored over 100 career goals in a career that has included spells at Football League sides Walsall, Peterborough and Newport County.
The striker has been capped at England C level and joins Dom Knowles, Mark Beck and Jordan Thewlis in a dangerous looking attack at The CNG Stadium.
Williams was in the Brackley side that missed out on Promotion to The National League after defeat to Harrogate Town, though an impressive season was capped off by FA Trophy victory against higher league opposition just one week later.
The West Bromwich born forward began his career at Walsall, during which time he enjoyed loan spells at Redditch United, Romulus and AFC Telford.
After his release from Walsall, Williams signed for National League North side Worcester City; making a total of 49 appearances in his first season with the club.
It was at next club Rushall Olympic where Williams proved himself as a prolific goalscorer at senior level, netting 38 goals in all competitions and ending the season as NPL Premier Top Scorer.
A move back to the National League North with Nuneaton soon followed, before further impressive form in front of goal caught the attention of League One side Peterborough who captured the striker's services in January 2016.
A change in Manager at his new club saw Williams return to Nuneaton the following Summer, though it wasn't long before Town's newest recruit was back in The Football League as Newport County swooped in.
It was from there Williams moved to his most recent club prior to signing for Town, as Brackley picked up the striker's signature, initially on a loan deal.
Williams struck 33 times in all competitions last season and becomes our second signing of the Summer following the recent arrival of Callum Howe.
Aaron will join the club officially on July 1st subject to FA and National League approval.
