Our Player Development Centre teams were able to test their skills against the likes of Benfica, Manchester City and Leicester this Bank Holiday Weekend in the Festival of Sport: Kids Cup at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium.
First up were the Under 9s on Saturday, who took on Anfield Town and Benfica, Mansfield Town and Doncaster Rovers, before our Under 11 side made it to the Semi-Final stage, beating York City on the way and reaching the Semi-Finals via penalty shoot out!
Sunday was the turn of the Under 10s and Under 12s, who both continued the great work done the previous day, with the Under 12s reaching the Quarter-Finals.
Thank you to everyone who supported the boys over the weekend, and to our staff who coached, supported and organised the boys during, and in the lead up to the tournament.
We hope the parents attending enjyed it too, some of the feedback given can be read below...
“Brilliant, we loved it and what a great experience. To progress to the semis was amazing as this is the first time they've all played together. Credit to the coaching team.”
“Thanks for organising everything, and to all the coaches for prepping and supporting the teams so well.
“The boys thoroughly enjoyed the whole event and spending quality time with the rest of their team (they were all so happy with each other). Getting to the semi-final was a total bonus and just made everything even better.
