The format was to play each team the play Semi-Finals consisting of 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd, with the the winners of both games playing in the final.
Town's first game was against Chesterfield and it was a game of high intensity and some great quality with chances being created at both ends.
It was Town who scored the only goal of the game as a free kick from Alfie Lee was excellently flicked into the goal by Jacob Abbott to seal an opening win.
Next up was Sheffield Schools FA and after starting with a win, Town started the game on the front foot and were moving the ball around full of confidence.
The opposition goalkeeper was in great form with several great saves, but just as it looked like the game was going to finish goalless, Lee took aim from the edge of the box and his shot found its way under the goalkeeper to give Town their second successive 1-0 win.
Third up were Dronfield and, just like the second game, Town started in confident fashion creating several chances but being unable to find the net.
It stayed 0-0 and, with seven points from three games, Town topped the table.
The Semi-Final saw Town play 4th placed Dronfield and, just like the last game, our players were on top from the first whistle, creating numerous chances.
Unlike the last game, the deadlock was broken by a great finish from Dylan Elliot with only two minutes left and finished 1-0, advancing Town into the final.
Town met Chesterfield in the final and it proved to be a tight contest with Liam Pinchen and their goalkeeper making good saves.
Just as it looked like finishing 0-0 and heading to penalties, the Chesterfield striker got in behind to score with virtually the last kick of the game.
A tough end to the evening for our promising squad, but a performance all the boys can be proud of.
