PDC vs Mansfield Report

26 November 2018

Town fought back from 2-0 down to beat Mansfield 4-2 in a very entertaining game on Friday 23rd November.

Town found themselves on the back foot early in the game going 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes.

An uncharacteristic slow start was matched by an impressive start from Mansfield as they continued to control the game and move the ball well.

Frank Greenwood stopped a third with a superb point blank save.

Harrogate worked themselves back into the game with Joe Payette muscling his was through a couple of defenders before volleying into the far corner to make it 2-1 at the break.

Town started the second half a lot better and found themselves level when Alex Rennocks played through Tom Addley, who crossed for Payette to score his second at the front post.

Both teams pushed forward trying to take the lead, but Town's defense stood strong with Ben Green and Tom Flint dealing with the Mansfield attacks.

Town took the lead when Nathan Young picked the ball up on the edge of the area before unleashing a brilliant strike into the top corner leaving the keeper no chance.

It was Young that completed the scoring in the last minutes as he latched onto a through ball, rounded the keeper and slotted home to complete Town's comeback.

Chesterfield awaits next week with the young side keen to continue their recent string of good performances.
