With no fixture to look forward to this weekend, members of Town's first team and U19 squad took part in a behind closed doors match on Thursday morning at The CNG Stadium.
The match provided an opportunity for Simon Weaver and Paul Thirlwell to take a closer look at U19 due Aaron Haswell and Nuno Perreira who had been training with the first team for the past two weeks.
Also given the chance to step up from the U19s having impressed in recent fixtures were Dan Nimick, Kwame Boateng, Neil Patience and Sam Barker, while U19 Youth Alliance Goalkeeper Rhys Durkin was involved.
The young Town players were lining up against their Manager Josh Falkingham in the first half and soon found themselves a couple of goals down to their Manager with Jack Muldoon and Mark Beck striking early.
Both sets of strikers were looking sharp in front of goal with Aaron Williams finding the net twice and setting up a third in an impressive first half.
Not to be outdone, Muldoon struck a quick brace at the start of the second half, finishing low into the bottom corner before combining with Beck and finishing when one-on-one.
Williams did go on to complete his hat-trick later in the game tapping in from close range after a Ryan Fallowfield pass down the touchline had sparked a flowing move down the right.
Liam Agnew was also amongst the goals, netting a brace from midfield after benefitting from excellent delivery from the right wing on two occasions.
