Ben Parker's two plus year stint as a Harrogate Town player has come to an end.
The left-back has made 70 appearances for the club since signing from Guiseley in June 2016, captaining the side on multiple occasions.“Parkes played an integral part in our play-off winning season, it was great for the young group of players to see at close quarters what a composed and assured player he was. I can't thank him enough for his contribution.” Said Manager Simon Weaver.
The 30-year-old has opted to pursue another opportunity within the football industry, which would not have been possible while also playing for the club.
Parker will continue in his role as Head of PDC at the club ensuring our Player Development Centre continues to provide top quality coaching to local footballers.
Our Player Development Centre has recently introduced a games programme which has seen participants take on the likes of Manchester United and Middlesbrough in a series of games aimed at aiding development, with Parker's links to the football industry crucial in securing high profile opponents.
Parker started his career with Leeds United, and went on to make 41 appearances for the Whites, while also enjoying spells at Bradford City, Darlington and Carlisle United before joining Guiseley in 2013.
We would like to thank Ben for his efforts over the past two years and look forward to the continued growth of our Player Development Centre under his stewardship.
