A late Joe Leesley goal wasn't enoughto prevent Town suffering a first away league defeat of the season at Dagenham.
Alex McQueen had struck twice towards the end of the first half to put his side in a great position and, despite pouring men forward, Town couldn't get past a determined defence and inspired Elliot Justham who denied Town on multiple occasions.Simon Weaver made two changes from Tuesday night's trip to Wrexham as Mark Beck and George Thomson took the place of Liam Agnew and Aaron Williams.
Town's brightest opening in the early exhanges came as Jordan Thewlis stood a cross up to the back post that Mark Beck almost reached, though Thewlis was forced off just moments later with an injury, being replaced by Jack Muldoon.
Just before the half hour mark Town needed Callum Howe at full stretch to deny the hosts a good chance as the centre half intercepted a low cross into the box before it could reach its target.
It was then the turn of Elliott Justham to keep the score level as the Dagneham stopper denied Beck's diving header at his near post from Joe Leesley's left wing cross.
With seven minutes left of the half Peter Taylor's side began putting pressure on Town, though James Belshaw made an excellent save to deny Tomi Adeloye's powerful header, just moments after Warren Burrell had blocked Angelo Balanta's goal bound effort.
There was nothing Belshaw could do about The Daggers' opener though as McQueen raced through on goal and lifter the ball over the Town stopper.
Three minutes later McQueen struck again, this time getting the better of Liam Kitching and firing across goal, his finish striking the far post before nestling in the opposite corner.
Simon Weaver's side almost pulled a goal back in first half stoppage time as Kelvin Langmead's header was cleared from under the cross bar, though Town went into the break two down.
The Manager's half time team talk almost had an instant affect as Town started the second half well, with Kitching volleying just over the bar minutes before Josh Falkingham's header almost crept into the near post.
Town were throwing everyone forward to get a foothold in the game, but Leesley's shot flew over the cross bar, while Thomson's header was rather fortunatelty sliced into the arms of Justham by a Dagenham defender.
An away goal had been coming, and arrived seven minutes from time as Leesley danced inside from the left wing and unleashed a right footed rocket that hit the underside of the bar on its way in.
Falkingham set Muldoon through on goal two minutes later with an excellent pass, but Town's striker was denied by Justham from a difficult angle.
Town were mounting attack after attack, but were somehow denied an 86th minute equaliser when Justham stuck out a hand and somehow prevented Langmead's header crossing the line.
Despite countless attacks, time ran out for Town who were unable to prevent a first away league defeat of the season.
