A combination of first team players, trialists and Under 19s recorded a 3-1 win over Huddersfield U23s at The CNG Stadium on Monday night.Simon Weaver was able to name six members of the first team squad in his starting line-up with Joe Cracknell, Ryan Fallowfield, Lloyd Kerry, Liam Agnew, Mark Beck and Jordan Thewlis all on the team sheet.
The visitors took an early lead as Olly Dyson raced down the right and crossed low towards Dom Tear who converted from close range.
Town did have the ball in the net five minutes later as Thewlis latched onto Beck's flick on and found the bottom corner, but was adjudged offside.
Weaver's side were level on 17 minutes when Beck and Thewlis again combined witht he latter cutting inside and finding Trialist C, who finished emphatically past Luke Mewitt.
Agnew had the chance to give his side the lead six minutes before the break after Beck had headed the ball into his path, but the midfieder was denied one-on-one by Mewitt.
There was nothing the Huddersfield stopper could do about Trialist's A's header two minutes later as the centre back guided Aaron Haswell's cross into the top corner.
Beck almost made it three after the restart, but his close range header was denied by Mewitt.
Town's number nine eventually got on the score sheet on 69 minutes after perfectly judging the flight of Kerry's free kick and nodding past Mewitt.
