Triple Contract Boost for Town

12 October 2018

We are delighted to announce Liam Agnew, Kelvin Langmead and Lloyd Kerry have today signed new contracts with the club.

The trio have made a combined 36 appearances this season and have been crucial to Town's impressive start to life in The National League.

Having been at the club for over four and a half years, Kerry is one of the club's longest serving players and has seen first hand how the club has developed over recent years.

He said: “We have made massive strides in the last few seasons since going full time and the club has gone from strength to strength.

“When I first signed there were probably four or five hundred fans here and now we are averaging 1,700, so on and off the field we are improving massively.

“Everyone has the same goal, we want to win football matches and want to be successful and it's great to be a part of that.

“It's a great club to be around, I get on well with the gaffer and all the management staff and we've got a great bunch of lads here so it was a no brainer to extend my contract.”

Simon Weaver added: ““He has been very consistent for this club and we know what we are going to get with Lloyd, he is a very reliable character in the changing room and a very good performer for us.

“He consistently plays to a high standard and his work ethic in training keeps everyone on it, while displaying such a good level of professionalism that sets a good example to the rest.”

Alongside Kerry for a large part of the season in central midfield has been Liam Agnew, who will be looking to add to his 55 appearances having extended his contract with the club, to the delight of the Manager.

“Aggers is a really good pro and there are fantastic elements to his game that will only get better.” Weaver added.

“His performances have gone to another level recently, he played four on the bounce and we won four on the bounce and I felt he got better and better throughout that period.

“He can count himself unlucky that our Captain Falkingham came back in and replaced him, but he's a very determined and ambitious character and has sustained that level of performance in training.”

Also extending his contract with the club is central defender Langmead who has appeared in every one of Town's fixtures this season since arriving in the Summer and is deserving of a new deal according to The Gaffer.

He said: “His dedication is second to none, we always want good leaders in the squad and he is undoubtedly one of them.

“He arrives first at training setting an example to younger lads and has been a very consistent performer, he's a warhorse and you need that in the team.”
