Ebbsfleet United Preview

13 February 2019

Town return to The CNG Stadium after a 92nd minute winner last weekend at Dover sent Simon Weaver's side on the long trip home with three points that launched them back into the play off places.

An own goal, George Thomson and Mark Beck secured victory on the south coast, with Weaver handing a first start to Jack Senior and placing Dylan Mottley-Henry in the squad, who went on to make his first appearance in Town colours from the bench.
With 15 games left of the regular season, Town lie seventh; well placed to push for promotion in their first National League season.

Town welcome Ebbsfleet to The CNG Stadium this Saturday, a club that has held it's current name since 2007.

The Fleet were originally formed in 1920 after two existing neighbouring clubs, Gravesend United and Northfleet United merged with one another.

Taking charge of Saturday's opponents in the opposition technical area will be Garry Hill.
Hill has a wealth of experience having managed in the National League with Dagenham & Redbridge, Weymouth, Rushden & Diamonds, Woking and now Ebbsfleet; winning promotion to The National League with three of those sides.

This season Ebbsfleet find themselves tenth in the league on 47 points, with recent good form slowing down with one win in their last 4 games; though that one win was an impressive 2-0 victory over Leyton Orient.

Town and The Fleet have faced off only once before, in October last year when Town came out 2-0 winners away from home thanks to goals from Callum Howe and Aaron Williams.

Town's defence will likely come up against striker Danny Kedwell, scorer of an impressive 61 goals in 79 appearances for Ebbsfleet, including 12 so far this campaign.
Before his move to The National League South with his current club, he was rustling the net in The Football League for Gillingham; scoring 45 times in 136 appearances for the Gills.
Weaver has an almost fully fit squad to choose from this weekend, with Jordan Thewlis the only injury absentee.
