Kitching Loan Extended

4 January 2019

Harrogate Town have extended the loan of Liam Kitching until the end of the 2018/19 season.

The Leeds United defender has made 28 appearances this season, with only three players racking up more minutes for Simon Weaver's side.

The 19-year-old has found the net four times so far in 2018/19 and has provided a further four assists, taking his overall goal tally at the club to seven.

Kitching opened his account for the season against Barnet in our first National League win, before opening the scoring against Solihull Moors two games later.

The Leeds United youngster's next goal came at Moor Lane against Salford, before scoring the winning goal in the FA Trophy against York City at The CNG Stadium.

On securing Kitching until the end of the season, Simon Weaver commented: “He did really well last season at centre half and has played well this year, at a higher level, in a position he's not been accustomed to, so you've got to give him a lot of credit.

“The modern centre half has to go out and defend in wide areas these days and playing on the left makes him more adept to that.

“I think he's grown as well in terms of his size and he's aggressive in the box with a nose for goals; he's got a great future ahead of him.”

Kitching will continue to wear the number 20 shirt and is still available for a number of sponsorship packages, email bensadler@harrogatetownafc.com for more details.
