Oldham Athletic was the destination for the Academy's first fixture of 2019, as all four age groups travelled over the Pennines for another challenging fixture.
All four teams played some very good football in parts, with the progress that all players have made since the start of the season evident throughout. Our U17s also travelled to play Oldham's U16s, where Josh Walsh's side took a break from Garforth League action, where they currently sit third in the table, three points behind the leaders Rothwell Town.
The game proved a good test for the visitors, who narrowly lost out by one goal.
Ben Parker, Head of PDC, was pleased with how the teams competed against challenging opposition.
He said:"All four of the Academy matches, and the U17 game, were really closely fought, with some really good and exciting football played.
“Although we didn't come out on top in regards to the score-line, it was a really pleasing morning and great to test ourselves against some strong Oldham teams.
“We thank all the parents and families for making the journey over, and thank you to Oldham Athletic for their hospitality and for hosting us."
