On Wednesday evening Town welcome BT Sport to The CNG Stadium for their second televised home fixture of 2019.
In front of the cameras Town will be facing off with familiar opposition in the form of last season's promotion rivals and current National League North Champions Salford City.Town have lost just one of their last seven fixtures and, after coming back from two goals down to earn a point at Barrow on Saturday, sit sixth with seven games of the regular season left to play (four at home and three away).
Simon Weaver's side remain the highest goal scorers in the league and have managed to find the back of the net in each of their last 12 home games, though Salford haven't conceded in five matches.
While Jack Muldoon remains top scorer, Callum Howe's equaliser at Barrow puts him joint second with striker Mark Beck on nine goals.
Town and Salford's paths have crossed many times since the Class of 92 owned club were promoted to The National League North under the managerial duo of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley.
The sides have met a total of seven times with Salford coming out on top earlier in the season courtesy of a 3-2 win at The Peninsula Stadium and recording a further two league wins over Town last season.
Highlights
During the Summer of 2017 Salford City turned into a full time team for the first time in their history and, just like Town, would go on to reap the rewards as they were promoted to the National League in the season that followed.
The Ammies are now aiming for a fourth promotion in the last five seasons and are currently well placed to do so, sitting just three points behind league leaders Leyton Orient.
Now under the stewardship of former Burnley, Scunthorpe and Preston man Graham Alexander, The Ammies are desperate along with Town to be the first club to gain back to back promotion from the National League North/South to the Football League.
Adam Rooney poses the biggest threat in front of goal for the visitors with 18 league goals this season, leading the way for a side that are second in the goal scoring charts and that have scored in 74% of their away games.
