Fallowfield Extends Town Deal

18 October 2019

Ryan Fallowfield has today put pen to paper on a contract that sees the defender extend his deal with the club up to 2021.

The club also has the option to extend the contract for a further year.

The right back has featured 14 times so far this season for Town, taking him to over 100 appearances in total under Simon Weaver, who feels the new deal is reward for Fallowfield's fine form.

“I think he deserves it, he has been a really consistent performer since coming back into the team.

“He has driven us forward and has been one of the best attacking influences in the team from right back, he has personified what we like to see on the pitch which is energy and dynamic play.

“He is full of enthusiasm, plays with a smile on his face and has matured while he has been with us.”

Fallowfield has made up part of a back four with Will Smith, Connor Hall and George Smith who have kept the most clean sheets of any National League team so far this season with an average age of just 23.

“They all find it exciting that they are young and can develop together and are excited about getting clean sheets, which is what we want to hear as coaching staff.” Added Weaver.

“The extra mobility in our back four has been noted before, it has given us a chance to play a bit more in keeping with our identity which is with energy and the ability to squeeze up and press aggressively.”
