Town take a break from league action this weekend as they make the short trip to face Halifax with a place in the FA Cup First Round at stake.
Simon Weaver's side head across West Yorkshire on the back of a seven game unbeaten run, posting four wins from their past five games to join the pack of sides around the playoff positions. One of these wins was of course the recent league meeting between the two sides at The Shay where Mark Beck's 89th-minute winner earned all three points.
Highlights
Since that defeat in late September, Halifax have regained top spot in the table but come into the game on the back of last Saturday's home defeat against Boreham Wood.
Managed by Pete Wild, who took over at the club this summer after a brief spell in charge at Oldham, Halifax have made an impressive start to the season, losing just one of their opening nine games.
They have been boosted by seven goals from Irish striker Liam McAlinden and five goals from midfield from Cameron King.
Last season, having been in the job for just 10 days as caretaker manager, Wild presided over an FA Cup shock as his Oldham side pulled off a famous win by knocking out Premier League side Fulham.
Halifax themselves made it through to the second round last year after upsetting League Two outfit Morecambe before falling to AFC Wimbledon and our opponents have plenty of FA Cup pedigree from their time as a league club.
Town will be bidding to make it through to the first round for the first time since 2012/13 when they pulled off a famous win at Torquay United.
Having fallen at this stage of the competition in each of the past four seasons Town will be hoping for a positive result to progress through where a number of big names and former winners potentially await.
