Defender Matthew Taylor has agreed non-contract terms with the club having impressed while training with the first team over the last few weeks.
The Southport-born left back played as a scholar at Wigan, before making the move to Derby County in the Summer of 2016 where he featured for the U23 side.Taylor was able to gain National League North experience on loan at Gainsborough Trinity while at Derby, before making the move to Oxford United in 2018 after impressing as a trialist in pre-season.
The 20-year-old spent the 2018/19 season with Oxford, with a loan spell at Banbury in the mix, before his release at the end of the season.
First team staff will continue to monitor the full back's progress in training with a view to a longer-term deal.
