Town get going and October is looking good!

3 October 2019

League sponsors Vanarama hope you will get involved as MANarama makes a very big return!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...
Three wins, two draws and just one defeat has certainly lifted spirits in North Yorkshire after a testing start to this season's Vanarama National League. Town are now on a four-game unbeaten stretch and up to mid-table.

What about the others in September?
There looks to be no stopping Yeovil Town at the minute – the Glovers won all six of their September matches. Not to be outdone, Barrow are five from five while Bromley remain top despite losing their unbeaten record to the impressive Yeovil. Wrexham's board ran out of patience with Bryan Hughes while early risers Maidenhead and Woking struggled to keep things up.

The high point?
If you're going to beat your Yorkshire rivals, you might as well do it in the final few minutes, right? Mark Beck knows the score and waited until the 87th minute to dent Halifax's hopes of a point.

Star performer…
Brendan Kiernan was touted as one of the best bits of business this summer and he's certainly living up to the hype.

Stat attack:
Only top-two sides Bromley and Yeovil had a better time on the road than Harrogate through the month. Happy travels!

Who's in the Golden Boot hunt?
Boreham Wood's Kabongo Tshimanga had a stunning September and netted six, taking his tally to a division-leading ten. Jamie Reid is in waiting on nine while Barrow pair Scott Quigley and John Rooney sit just behind on eight.

How do things compare to last September?
Admittedly, things were a lot better. Only Leyton Orient stopped their momentum as Simon Weaver's well-drilled troops disposed of Eastleigh, Gateshead, Havant, Maidstone and Boreham Wood.

What does October look like?
The BT Sport cameras are in town for the visit of Ebbsfleet before awaydays to Wrexham and Yeovil. It's then back up north for the visit of Aldershot and Barnet.
