We are delighted to reveal our second signing of the Summer… Jake Lawlor.
Lawlor signs after the expiry of his contract at Wrexham, where the Yorkshireman had spent the previous two seasons.
The 29-year-old started his career with Ossett Town before a spell at our neighbours Harrogate Railway.
His performances at Station View caught the eye of Steve Kittrick who secured the services of Lawlor at Guiseley AFC.
It would prove to be a shrewd signing with Lawlor helping the Lions achieve promotion to The National League during his near six years at the club.
The six-foot-four centre half joined AFC Fylde on loan in February 2018, before a short stint at Salford City during Summer 2018 preceded his arrival at the Racecourse.
As well as netting against Town during his time at Guiseley, Lawlor started both fixtures for Wrexham home and away against Town this season and is well known to Simon Weaver.
“I've liked Jake for years, he's a good player and to add someone of Jake's experience still with that hunger to improve is a real lift.”
“He's local, talented lad and will do well here I'm sure, getting the right characters in means everything to us.”
We would like to welcome Jake to the club and look forward to seeing him in action.
The transfer is subject to EFL and FA approval.
