Francis Signs Ahead of Exeter Fixture

15 December 2020

Ahead of tonight's fixture at Exeter City, we are delighted to announce the signing of Edward Francis.

Francis joins up with Town having departed most recent club Wolves in October, where the 21-year-old Captained the Premier League outfit's U23 side on multiple occasions.

Our newest arrival helped Wolves achieve promotion to the PL2 Division One in the spring of 2019 and featured on the first-team's pre-season tour of China.

Able to play across the back four and in holding midfield, Francis started his career at Manchester City, where he Captained the club at U18 level and spent time out on loan with two different clubs in Holland.

“I was very happy when I heard the option to come here came about. I trained last week with the group and seeing the standard and quality of the lads, I think this move will suit me. I'm very excited and raring to.” Added Francis.

“I like to play as holding midfielder and get on the ball as I'm quite a technical player. I like to get the team playing and hopefully can contribute some goals and assists.”

Signed by Wolves in January 2019 for an undisclosed fee, Francis was loaned out to Europe again, this time to Swiss side Grasshoppers Zurich.

Francis has experience of international football too having represented England from U16 to U19 level and will wear the number 22 shirt at Town.

Welcome to Town, Ed!
