Town strolled to a 3-0 win over promotion chasing rivals Yeovil Town thanks to Jack Diamond's tidy finish and a brace from George Thomson.
Despite six changes made by Simon Weaver; Ryan Fallowfield and George Thomson both retained their places in the starting XI following Saturday's cup win over Eastleigh.Windy conditions made it difficult for either side to control the contest early on but it was Yeovil who threatened first, with Remeao Hutton forcing Warren Burrell into a great block.
Twenty minutes had gone before Town's first real sight on goal. It came after Fallowfield collected the ball from a Town corner and struck fiercely from outside the area with a deflection needed for the ball to clear the cross bar.
Connor Hall then went close following Diamond's low cross. The center half met the delivery but fired over the bar.
Just after the half hour mark, Jack Muldoon was played through and closed in on goal but he hit the side netting with his effort as Town began to control the game.
Town's dominance paid off on the stroke of half-time when Muldoon showed great determination and strength to win a loose ball and then cross from the left to Thomson.
The midfielder controlled the ball to prod home the opener and put Town ahead going into the break.
Diamond grabbed the second for Town only a few minutes after the restart. Thomson threaded the pass to the young winger who slotted the ball past Stuart Nelson at the near post.
Some great defending from Town denied Yeovil as they looked to scramble the ball over the line. The home side then broke up the other end with Thomson forcing a save with his curling effort.
With 20 minutes to play Thomson scored his second of the night following a great Town move.
It started with Fallowfield who combined with Muldoon and put the ball into space in the box. Lloyd Kerry then picked up possession and his shot was flicked on by Thomson into the back of the net.
Town were able to control the game from here on with Myles Hippolyte sent off in injury for a poor challenge on Will Smith.
The result closes the gap on league leaders Barrow to four points.
