Simon Weaver, accompanied by Phil Lee, has taken time out from 1st Team duties to lead a coaching session at The Army Foundation College.
Head of Football at the College, Major Bob Francis has recently put together a squad of footballers from amongst the students to play a series of matches on a tour of Canada later this year.The sixteen year olds have difficulty in playing matches because of their military training and general educational commitments, so Simon's coaching has been of great value in preparing them for the trip.
Major Francis said “There has been tremendous enthusiasm on the part of our Young Soldiers to make the squad for Canada.
"The whole squad were really pleased to work with a professional coach of such high standing as Simon Weaver.
"This is another example of how we at the College are developing growing and beneficial ties with Harrogate Town”
Simon clearly enjoyed his time at Penny Pot and was very impressed with the youngsters' high levels of fitness, skill and enthusiasm.
