A recent supporter petition asking for the FA Trophy date to be moved back so crowds could attend or for the match to be used as a "Test Event” found it's way into the House of Commons when Andrew Jones MP raised the point at PMQs.
The petition gained 1209 signatures and further raised the profile of the club.Unfortunately, The FA stuck with the original date which was a real disappointment for everyone.
Attention now turns to a return of supporters in August when the 2021/22 campaign kicks off.
We are advised by the Government that on 17th June all lockdown restrictions will be lifted unless the data dictates otherwise.
The EFL have already written to all the party leaders to set out football's intention and desire to return to full crowds in August.
At the EFL Divisional Meetings we attend a number of scenarios were discussed from a return of full capacity crowds with no social distancing to a possible staged return with some social distancing which will reduce capacities for a period of time. Vaccine passports and a reliance on negative lateral flow testing also came into the discussions.
We will be monitoring how matters develop week by week and we will keep you up to date with everything we learn as we hear it.
As the next few weeks pan out we will also keep you up to date with regard to season tickets.
Thank you for your patience and support, we have to stand together through these hard times we are all experiencing.
