The Gaffer on how we improve defending set pieces…
We've just got to show the players what we want from set pieces and how to defend them and be better at it. We've worked hard in training today on them, we will do some more tomorrow and just be clear about instructions.
On Sutton's fine start to the season…
They're hard to beat, got good size about them, are good athletes and they've worked really hard and they know what they're about, think that's the big thing. If you look at us when we went up, we didn't change much and they've done similar. They've got good, consistent characters at the club on the pitch and off the pitch and they fight for each other.
On who stands out for Sutton…
I think first of all it's their collective spirit. They will all fight like we do. They've got good height and strength right through from Goodliffe to Bugiel up top and pace around him so there are plenty of attributes that we're going to have to be strong against.
On Sutton being another example of the standard of teams winning promotion from the National League…
I think you've always seen good, strong National League teams go and do well. It's a very competitive level. I think the difference sometimes is as you go up a level, so does the consistency levels.
It's not just an FA Cup tie or a one off game, it's about reproducing the performances week in, week out and Sutton can do that. I know that we've proven that we can as well and we'll keep striving just to keep improving all aspects.
On Rory McArdle…
He trained well today and he's getting closer and closer, which is good. I don't want to put a specific date on it, but not far off at all.
On confidence with away form…
We've been away to the likes of Portsmouth and that was a real high point. As we've already spoken about, the game is about consistency. When you return to the league and where you want to end up, you have to keep reproducing solid performances and that's what we're after.
We're enthused by a lot of good ingredients that have come to the fore and certainly attacking wise, we've looked really slick. We've got to be brave enough when you go to places like Sutton when they compact the space and when we've got the ball, we've got to be good enough to cut through.
