We're excited to announce the loan signing of Forest Green striker, Josh March, who joins Simon Weaver's squad on loan until the end of this season.
Born in Stourbridge, the 23-year-old striker began his career with Alvechurch in 2015, becoming the club's first contracted player in a decade in May 2017.
He became a vital player for the non-league side, scoring an impressive 81 goals in 184 matches to help Alvechurch rise from the Midland Alliance to the Southern Premier.
March then moved onto National League North side, Leamington, for the 2019-20 season, scoring 24 goals in just 26 appearances before signing for League Two side Forest Green Rovers in January 2020.
The striker scored twice for Rovers before the season was curtailed and his game time has been limited this season as he recovered from injury.
March is now fit and raring to go, having joined up with the squad this week and we caught up with March after his first training session with his new teammates...
“He's a clever type of centre forward who will get on the end of things, a real poacher and we've already seen that in training.” Explained Weaver.
“He gets across the front of defenders and his goals, enthusiasm and energy will be good for us.”
March will wear number 24 and is eligible for Saturday's away match against Cambridge.
In other news, Joe Leesley has extended his loan at Boston United until the end of the season, while Tom Walker is back training with the club following the conclusion of his loan at Notts County.
