2021/22 EFL, Carabao Cup and Papa Johns Trophy fixtures revealed

24 June 2021

A trip to Valley Parade on Boxing Day is the standout match as our 2021/22 fixtures are announced!

We begin our season at home to Rochdale AFC at the EnviroVent Stadium on Saturday 7 August and then make the trip down south seven days later to face Crawley Town on 14 August, followed by a return to The Breyer Group Stadium as we battle it out with old National League rivals, Leyton Orient.

The first 2021/22 Yorkshire Derby between ourselves and Bradford City will be held at Valley Parade on Boxing Day, with the reverse fixture played at the EnviroVent just over a month later on 5 February.

We'll start 2022 at home to Port Vale before heading on our longest away journey of the season a week later as we make our way down to Exeter.

Our last league fixture of the season will be at The EnviroVent Stadium as we welcome newly promoted Sutton United on 7 May 2022. Northampton (A), Carlisle (H) and Forest Green Rovers (A) make up the remaining four matches of the campaign.

Alongside our league fixtures, the three teams we'll be facing in the Papa John's Trophy have been announced. Mansfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle United U21s will be our opponents in the group stage.

We welcome Mansfield to The EnviroVent Stadium the week commencing 30th August, then Newcastle the week commencing 4th October, before a trip to Sheffield Wednesday rounds off Group H the week commencing 8th November.

The first round of fixtures for the Carabao Cup were also drawn today and we'll be playing Rochdale at home on Tuesday 10th August, three days after our meeting with The Dale on the opening day of the League season.
