Our 2019/20 Buildbase FA Trophy Final will be played on Monday 3rd May (kick-off TBC), after the following statement was this afternoon issued by the FA...
'We are pleased to announce a revised date for the 2019-20 Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase Finals, the re-start schedule for the 2020-21 Buildbase FA Vase and a date for the 2020-21 Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase Finals.
'The 2019-20 Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase Finals, due to take place on Sunday 27 September 2020, were unfortunately postponed following updated COVID-19 restrictions from the UK Government.
'The Finals, which sit under the banner of The FA's Non-League Finals Day, will now take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Monday 3 May 2021. Despite our best efforts to accommodate limited spectators, a suitable date was sadly not available and both the Buildbase FA Vase Final between Consett and Hebburn Town and Buildbase FA Trophy Final featuring Harrogate Town and Concord Rangers will be played behind closed doors.'
Managing Director Garry Plant had this to say on the announcement:
“We were hoping the date of the final would be further along the lockdown restrictions pathway so supporters could have been there with us.
“We had been pushing the FA for that to be the case, but have not been consulted and this date comes to us out of the blue.
“We are deeply sorry for supporters who again will not get the chance to join us at Wembley, however we will be doing all we can to make arrangements that include the supporters and allow them to enjoy the final.”
