Watch the Gaffer's pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to Forest Green...
On Josh March's injury…
It's sad to say he's had to go get a scan as his knee had really blown up and was quite swollen. We're still waiting to find out the real extent of the injury with the results. He'll go see a consultant and he's going to be a big miss.
On seven of Tuesday night's starting XI being with the side in National League North days…
They've just improved and improved every year. You can see the improvements and they're hungry for more. It's not too hot for them as they've continued to strive which is what the club is all about.
On Dan Jones…
He's added so much strength and athleticism. People often talk about his massive long throw but that's only one of his many assets, he's a really good all round left back.
He's another one who's still developing. He's only young but got a great personality and the squad has definitely embraced him because he's a personality plus.
On the result against Colchester…
It's knowing where and when to play on our pitch. Against Grimsby we played through the thirds on a difficult wicket. We've just got to keep trying to get better at what we do and our system.
Coming up against the Gaffer's former manager, Mark Cooper…
Mark was my manager at Tamworth many moons ago. The team was struggling in the National League due to finances. We played a back three then and he still plays one now.
Back then he wanted us to just head and kick it but that was probably because of the quality of players that he had. It's a different proposition now with Forest Green, a side who like to get it down and play. They're a squad full of talent.
On playing against Forest Green's style of play…
I think I'm lucky enough now to have enough warriors to go into battle against direct teams but also the energy to press hard against the likes of these talented teams who like to get it out from the keeper and play. I think you need both to be able to exist at this level and keep getting better.
On whether Forest Green will be one of our tougher away games this season…
Definitely. In the run up to this game we thought we needed to win 3-4 of the previous five so we're in a really good spot. This game isn't a free hit though. It's not like in the FA Cup where we're coming up against a Premier League side.
Nothing is a free hit, there's pressure on us to keep performing and to keep accumulating points because the aim is to finish as high as possible.
There pitch looks one of the best in our league as I'm sure ours will be next season once we've given it a rest. It's conducive for good football so we're looking forward to it.
