"In the FA cup they’re always special occasions" | Lloyd Kerry pre Wrexham

5 November 2021

We've been chatting to Town midfielder Lloyd Kerry about Saturday's upcoming FA Cup tie against Wrexham…

Kerry on excitement building towards the First Round…

It's a game we're looking forward to and in the FA cup they're always special occasions. We know it'll be a tough game against Wrexham at our place, it should be a good atmosphere and we know they've got a really good squad so it's a game we're looking forward to.

On enjoying playing in the FA Cup…

It's always special to play in the FA Cup. If you win a few games you can get to round three and have the chance to play the big boys in the Premier league. That's our aim, to get as far as we can as obviously it's good revenue for the club and good for players to test ourselves against better opposition.

On Wrexham…

They've got a very good squad and players who have come from higher levels. I think they'll sell out their allocation as well so it should add to a really good atmosphere.

On the message from the coaching staff…

To be positive. Obviously we're going through a little blip without a win in four games so it's a case of trying to get back to winning ways, build a bit of momentum and put in a really positive performance.

On the tie being at home…

Our home games this season have been great and the atmosphere has been fantastic. I'd imagine it'll be the same again on Saturday and I think playing in front of big crowds helps us as players get the adrenaline going and I'm sure it'll be a great atmosphere Saturday.
