Defender Rory McArdle will undergo surgery on Thursday 30th September to repair a groin injury he picked up during Saturday's 0-0 draw Stevenage.

McArdle was brought off at half-time as a precaution but after further tests, the 34-year-old was sent to see a specialist and a scan revealed an avulsion injury to the adductor (groin) tendon which requires surgery.

Although not wanting to put an exact time frame on the defender's return, it's expected that he'll be out of action for an extended period of time.
